Hydrogen tanks filled with metal hydride powder or pellets were investigated using Neutron Radiography (NR) and Neutron Computerised Tomography (NCT). Changes in the powder structure were characterized as well as the hydrogen distribution in the tank volume.

By using neutron diffraction, the residual stress distributions in a water-quenched IN 718 compressor disc were studied. This knowledge allowed an optimization of subsequent treatments such as turning to final shape to minimize unwanted effects of distortion and deformation.
